(korea is technically still at war with the north, so the govt doesnt open up the countrys map data via api to foreign companies like google) Is it normal to not receive a confirmation email after submitting your id? So best option is to use naver maps

Earlier this year, naver released its google maps in english About how long does it take for the naver support to restore your account usually Assuming you use google maps normally, i usually search for the business (if name known) in google maps, cut / paste the korean translation (under the english name) into naver

Korean territory isn't available on google maps

So, me and other koreans only use korean applications like navermap or kakaomap for directions, navigations, transportation, subway routes, etc I use it all the time it's just a quick information for you guys (korean typings will bring more information on those such apps) Naver maps is integrated with naver blogs and reviews, which i find makes it easier to find information about businesses

Personally, i also like the ui better, but that's subjective Sometimes kakao has more accurate info about more obscure transit systems though. Kakao maps was better for navigating in jeju because of the live bus tracker but everywhere else i prefer naver But i look on both for finding places, i just use naver for actually navigating most of the time.

For metro and walking or just checking where you are, naver or kakao will be fine

Another thing is that friends that visit seoul as tourists tell me that naver works well in english, while i only get complaints about kakao map I have not tried to verify why I prefer my maps not to try to alphabetize all the korean names and roads. I will be travelling to korea in about 2 weeks' time and would like to create a naver account to use maps and bookmark places

However, i can't seem to get through. Naver map is by far the most popular/commonly used I've never met anyone who told me they used daum or kakao I personally use kakao but there's no real reason for it, i just like the idea of having all my apps (kakaotalk, kakao map, kakao bus and subway) being the same

I use mine in korean though so i'm not sure the best app for foreigners.

Planning a long trip to korea I cant find any setting to change map.naver.com to english The mobile app works well but i prefer to research on my laptop I've recently made a naver account and it immediately got suspended lol

I've already done the appeal form where i sent my id to verifying and unsuspend my account I wanted to ask though
